Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

TradeCalibrate collects the following data when you use the platform:

• Account data: Username (required), email (optional), hashed password.
• Gameplay data: Trade decisions (long/short/none), position size, leverage, timing data, emotion grid selections, confidence-derived scores, and scenario outcomes.
• Behavioral analytics: Computed metrics like decision quality score, win rate, risk appetite, trader archetype, and calibration curves — all derived from your gameplay.
• Technical data: IP address (for rate limiting only, not stored persistently), browser type, device type.

2. What We Don't Collect

• We do not collect real financial data, brokerage accounts, or actual trading history.
• We do not collect payment information (no premium payments yet).
• We do not use third-party tracking cookies or sell data to advertisers.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide the simulation experience and compute your behavioral profile.
• To display leaderboards (your username and aggregate scores are public).
• To improve the platform (aggregated, anonymized analytics).
• To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse (IP-based, not stored long-term).

4. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase (AWS infrastructure, Sydney region). Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (cost factor 12). Sessions use HTTP-only secure cookies with JWT tokens. All connections use HTTPS/TLS.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Your gameplay data is retained as long as your account exists. You can request full account deletion by contacting us. Upon deletion, all your attempts, metrics, flags, and account data are permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Public Information

Your username, trader archetype, decision quality score, and leaderboard rank are publicly visible. Your individual trade decisions, emotion data, and detailed metrics are private to your account (and visible to platform administrators for moderation purposes).

7. Guest Mode

Guest users can play up to 5 rounds without creating an account. Guest data is stored only in your browser's local storage and is never sent to our servers. No personal data is collected from guest users.

8. Children

TradeCalibrate is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.
